Eco Warm Homes have been in business since 2004 when having earlier discovered what appeared to be the magic of the wood pellet stove, even then the wood pellet stove was easy to load, could lighti automatically, be controlled by the room temperature and was so easy to clean.

We were amazed at the amount of heat that could be released from the small nuggets of compressed sawdust, of course at the time wood pellet fuel was imported into Ireland and by todays standards the quality of the fuel was often questionable.

The first working solar system we saw was back in the 1980's again it was nowhere near as good as today's systems however it was impressive. That said so was the price as the system without any large cylinder was costing around £8,000.00, to put it into context that was almost one third the price of some houses in Dublin at the time.

Of course it was a natural progression to add the modern solar systems to the wood pellet products we were offering as people were recognising the benefits of harvesting the energy from the sun and the considerable savings there were to be made by using solar systems to heat water.

When Balcas started to make wood pellet fuel from the waste sawdust produced at their timber mill the cost of wood pellet as a fuel started to fall as the wood pellet was now produced in Ireland making wood pellet a viable sustainable fuel and their wood pellet was better than most of the imports. Using wood pellet for central heating was a natural progression especially as good quality fuel was available in Ireland and the cost of heating homes, factories and offices was dramatically reduced.
